I would like to share this conversation with Dr. Gabor Maté where he explains about trauma, addiction and child development. There is also a link to the documentary I strongly recommend “The wisdom of trauma” which gives you a good insight of his work.
Recently I started the training Compassionate Inquiry which is about the approach of Dr. Gabor Maté that he developed together with Sat Darham Kaur. Compassionate Inquiry helps reconnect to ourselves so we can learn how to heal.
Luckily there are more and more scientists, doctors, healers and practitioners like Dr. Gabor Maté spreading their knowledge in different ways. What they all have in common is their view on trauma, disease and child development and that they all proclaim that the nervous system gets stressed when trauma occurs.
The seven impacts of trauma:
1. Separation from self
2. Disconnection from others (isolation)
3. Altered worldview (causing a constriction)
4. Lifelong pain (pain that stays with you and results in constant escapism)
5. Cognitive development (trauma inhibits brain development)
6. Personal shame
7. Difficulty being in the present
At a later date I will be offering some sessions to practice these teachings. If you are interested please feel free to contact me.
